BILLBOARD, WALLSCAPE & POSTERS OF DEFIANCE

In all of 2020, we tried to find an outdoor advertising company to run a public message of defiance in Los Angeles. Why Los Angeles? Because so much hate was spewing from there. Those who supported the 'little dictators' and their tyrannical mandates, wanted us shut down and worse.  They threatened to burn down our restaurant. They made repeated  death threats against Tony. They attempted to ruin our online reputation with hateful reviews. They tied up our phone lines with harassing phone calls.  In addition, Hollywood celebrities tried to launch boycotts against us.

What they all did not understand though, is that we wear their cowardly attacks like a 'Badge of Honor'. It emboldens us. Strengthens us in our resolve. We dig in deeper and punch back harder!  So we wanted to mock, shame, taunt and dare the enemies of Freedom over the mask mandates and all lockdown related tyranny. 

No one however would run our billboard. Every single ad  executive from every agency  refused our business, saying our message was "too controversial and would incite lawlessness." Until one stepped up in September 2020. She agreed to run our billboard for thirty days, and pushed it through for approval from management.  She believed in the First Amendment. 

'LEAVE THE MASK, TAKE THE CANNOLI'

Our message, 'Leave the Mask, take the Cannoli' message ran for thirty days, on a 

giant 48 ft billboard. It was our take on the famous quote from 'The Godfather' movie, 'Leave the Gun, Take the Cannoli.' The billboard went up on La Cienega in Los Angeles, directly across from the 'Beverly Center'.

 Once the thirty days were over however, they refused to run the billboard again there or anywhere else, or any message like it. 

We have tried since then to find another outdoor ad agency to run our new message of defiance over the new vax mandates. We have contacted them all, and they have all refused. We wanted to again put up billboards on enemy territory. We tried New York City, Sacramento, San Francisco, and of course Los Angeles. Once again we were told our messages were too controversial and encourage law breaking. 

None had the courage to stand with us  in defense of American Liberty and Freedom.

That is until now. Three brave American Patriots stepped up. A small ad company with a big heart for their country. They offered a space on a wall in a neighborhood of Los Angeles known for their support of anti-American policies. So we took it.

Proud to have these courageous men stand along side us in our fight!

So in response to the tyrannical  Los Angeles city vax mandates going into effect on 

November 8, 2021, Basilico's started adding its message of defiance to the wall the same day, unveiling the finished artwork on November 9, 2021.

See the new completed giant mural / wallscape up high on the side of a building in the heart of the boardwalk in Venice Beach, located at 1305 Ocean Front Walk.
